Butt-Weld Splicing
NSW non-reinforced profile belts and polyester reinforced belts can be easily spliced by the butt-weld method*. Belts are spliced quickly and cleanly, to any length.
The plastic material at both ends of the belt is melted completely and bonded during the welding process.
*Polyester reinforced belts may also be joined by knot splicing.

Butt-Weld Splicing Kits
NSW offers two kits for butt-weld splicing. One includes a heavy-duty metal clamping tool that is effective in most applications. This kit is available in specialized versions with clamping tools designed to match belt profiles.
These specialized clamping tools are designated with an additional code added to the tool kit brand name. “RV” is for Round and V-belts (except Parallel V). “FP” is for Flat belts and Parallel V-belts. “T” is for T-belts.
The second kit includes a light weight plastic clamping tool. The smaller, lighter plastic clamping tool may be more convenient when installation work is done in smaller spaces. This kit is designated as “LD” for light-duty and is recommended for small round belts and V-belts up to “B” section.
